New details of Jürgen Klopp's introductory visit to Bayern Munich: the new Germany coach allegedly spoke to Vincent Kompany about a tactical problem - and joked because of Nathaniel Brown.

Klopp stopped by Säbener Straße after Bayern Munich's 5-1 win against VfB Stuttgart on the opening Bundesliga weekend. According to Sport Bild, he then held a detailed conversation with Kompany in his office.

One of the main topics was a basic tactical question. Kompany uses man-marking at Bayern Munich, while Klopp plans to use zonal marking with the Germany national team, as he did in his previous jobs. Using a magnetic tactics board, Kompany is said to have explained his system to Klopp and shown that there are not actually that many differences between the two approaches in the flow of the game.

The meeting also touched on individual players. With Nathaniel Brown, Klopp is said to have had a little dig at Kompany. "Now we've finally got a German left-back again - and then you play him as a No. 10," the Germany head coach is said to have joked, according to the report.

Nathaniel Brown recently played at left-back again for Bayern Munich

Brown impressed at left-back in his first appearances for the national team. Short of attacking alternatives, however, Kompany used the 23-year-old summer signing from Eintracht Frankfurt in attacking midfield at the start of the season for Bayern Munich. Kompany is said to have taken the remark in good humour and promised to use Brown again in future in his usual position at left-back.

That was the case in the games that followed, though probably less because of Klopp's demand and more because Bayern Munich's other potential No. 10s, Jamal Musiala, Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry, got back on track physically. At left-back, Brown is competing with the resurgent Davies.

Klopp is also said to have held extensive talks in Munich not only with Kompany but with Joshua Kimmich too. During the conversation, the Germany head coach is said to have assured the 31-year-old that he would remain captain for the time being and was planned for central midfield.
