Unbelievably stupid. Or in German, überbold. This is how Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany described Michael Olise's red card against Viking on Tuesday. He saw his French Ballon d’Or candidate lose his self-control when he threw the ball toward Zlatko Tripić’s face.

Speaking to Prime Video after the game (via Goal), Vincent Kompany admitted that Olise needs to do better at managing his temper in the game against Viking. The red card completely changed the game for the visitors.

That red card was unbelievably stupid. We’ve discussed that very clearly. Michael should have a better temper. And he knows that. You could tell he felt embarrassed toward the team. Today it was not a final or a semifinal. But these kinds of moments are crucial in a season. Vincent Kompany

The Belgian coach has backed Olise to come back stronger from this experience. The French forward will hope not to repeat the same mistake in the latter stages of the competition. Bayern cannot afford to lose him for several games. He will miss next week's game against Arsenal in the Champions League due to suspension.

Harry Kane has also told Prime Video that the red card changed the game for Die Roten. The English forward insisted that Olise will learn from this mistake. He believes that the French forward will be frustrated to miss next week's big game against Arsenal.
