Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has admitted there is concern over Bukayo Saka’s injury after the winger was forced off during his side’s 2-2 Champions League draw with Bayern Munich.

Saka was forced off early on in Germany, with Arteta revealing the England international had experienced a sharp pain.

“They are a bit concerned,” Arteta said. “A player who has to come off with a really sharp pain is never good news but we have to wait and see.”

Despite the injury setback, Arteta was full of praise for his players after Arsenal secured a point against the German champions thanks to Declan Rice’s late equaliser.

The Gunners boss hailed the result as a remarkable achievement given Bayern’s formidable home record in recent seasons.

“It’s remarkable what we’ve done because I’ve watched all the games they have played here in the last three years and they batter every team,” he said.

“I really value and I’m really aware of what the boys have done tonight.”
