Joao Pedro - over 0.5 shots on target (Aston Villa vs Chelsea)
Brazilian forward Joao Pedro is enjoying a productive maiden campaign for Chelsea and the 24-year-old’s 11-goal haul makes him the Blues’ leading marksman in the Premier League this term. Pedro hit one of those goals when Chelsea last faced Aston Villa in December and he could be similarly impactful in Wednesday’s rematch.
The striker has been averaging 2.27 shots and 0.96 shots on target per 90 minutes in the league this season and Pedro has landed at least one accurate attempt in six of his last seven appearances in the division.
Gabriel Magalhaes - over 0.5 shots (Brighton vs Arsenal)
Set-piece specialists Arsenal leaned heavily on their prowess from dead balls again when beating Chelsea in controversial circumstances in Sunday’s London Derby, and three members of their back four registered at least one shot against the Blues as a result.
Brazilian centre-half Gabriel Magalhaes, who is dominant aerially in both boxes, was one of the Arsenal defenders to get an effort away and the 28-year-old is likely to be a threat again when the Gunners visit Brighton. Gabriel has had 1+ shots in eight of his last 12 Premier League runouts and he’s backed to deliver again here.
Mateus Fernandes over 1.5 fouls (Fulham vs West Ham)
Combative off the ball and classy on it, West Ham star Mateus Fernandes has been catching the eye in recent weeks and the Portuguese midfielder is virtually certain to be in the thick of the action again when the Irons cross the capital to take on London rivals Fulham on Wednesday evening.
Fernandes committed two fouls in West Ham’s loss to Liverpool at Anfield at the weekend and that was the third time in his last five appearances where the 21-year-old gave away 2+ free kicks. Expect his tough tackling to be a feature of Wednesday’s skirmish at Craven Cottage.
Antoine Semenyo over 0.5 shots on target (Manchester City vs Nottingham Forest)
Antoine Semenyo has been a revelation for City since completing his £64m-winter move north from Bournemouth and the explosive forward hit his fourth goal in seven Premier League starts for the Mancunians in last weekend’s 1-0 triumph over Leeds at Elland Road.
The 26-year-old has lodged at least one shot on target in six of his seven Premier League appearances for City, with the exception against United in the Manchester Derby at Old Trafford, and the Ghanaian should have opportunities to line up more efforts against Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium.
Joelinton over 1.5 fouls (Newcastle vs Manchester United)
Brazilian bruiser Joelinton is one of the Premier League’s most aggressive midfielders and the 29-year-old has been dishing out even more punishment in recent weeks in the absence of his foil and compatriot Bruno Guimaraes.
Joelinton committed four fouls in a single sitting in Newcastle’s loss to Everton at the weekend and was the third Magpies match in a row where the enforcer was collared for at least three free kicks. The South American is unlikely to play with the brakes on at St. James’ Park on Wednesday night, so back him to throw his weight around again.
