Fantasy Premier League GW11 reaction: Haaland blanks but Mount bags brace

Gameweek 11 provided some excellent entertainment with all 20 Premier League teams in action.

It was an important period for fantasy football players with some of the season's top points scorers failing to provide for their owners.

Jose Sa earned 14 points by saving a penalty in Wolves' 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest, while Dominic Solanke scored 12 points with a goal and assist in Bournemouth's 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage.

There was a good collection all round for keepers as six secured at least 10 points for their fantasy bosses.

With midweek fixtures looming for most of England's top flight, we take a look at the best and worst performers ahead of GW12.

Gameweek 11 top performers

Mason Mount (Chelsea)

Mason Mount is hitting form at the perfect time ahead of the World Cup and his 15-point return will please the minority of players who stuck with him during his dry patch.

Having scored 12 points against Wolves during Gameweek 10, the England international kept his fine form going by netting both goals as Chelsea secured all three points in a 2-0 win at Aston Villa.

Sporting a surprising 8% ownership in fantasy football, Mount looks to be a risk worth taking with the Blues facing Brentford on Wednesday.

And at a fair price of £7.7million, the 23-year-old could replicate his performance from the weekend and make himself the top points scorer for two games in a row.

Alisson (Liverpool)

Liverpool looked formidable in the 1-0 win over Manchester City and Alisson played a key part in the Reds keeping a clean sheet against the champions.

The Brazilian topped his season best of six points with a massive 14-point return on Sunday, making him the league's highest-scoring keeper.

His pinpoint ball to Mohamed Salah means he has now set up three goals for the Egyptian in the Premier League — the most a goalkeeper has assisted a single player in the competition’s history.

With another game at Anfield coming against West Ham on Wednesday, the 56-cap international is a safe bet with Jurgen Klopp's men looking to extend their good run.

Ivan Toney (Brentford)

Ivan Toney has been one of the Premier League's most consistent performers this season with eight goals and two assists in 10 appearances.

And the lethal forward bagged for Brentford again as Thomas Frank's side saw off high-flying Brighton.

A brace earned the 26-year-old ace 12 points, taking his total tally to 65 and strengthening his claim for a place on the plane to Qatar next month.

The Bees will fancy their chances against Chelsea on Wednesday but the 25% of players who own Toney may want to consider if the risk is worth taking.

Gameweek 11 worst performers

Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

For only the second time this season, Erling Haaland failed to score for Manchester City in the league.

Although his presence was a danger throughout the match, the Norwegian powerhouse could not breach the Liverpool backline and he secured a season-low two points.

He had opportunities to add to his incredible goalscoring tally and was robbed of an assist by VAR — but the former Borussia Dortmund man proved he is human after all.

Over 80% of players selected the 22-year-old goal machine but with City not playing in midweek, it may be time to either sell or bench the forward — at least for now.

Robert Sanchez (Brighton)

It may seem a harsh inclusion, but with 15% of players selecting Robert Sanchez as their goalkeeper, his one-point return will have disappointed many.

Conceding two goals without reply means the Spaniard earned a single point for the third time this season.

It seems the 24-year-old keeper either scores big or has no impact on the game — the latter being the case in the defeat to Brentford.

The Seagulls have a good chance to bounce back with a favourable home encounter with Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)

Portugal international Bruno Fernandes has had a quiet season for Manchester United and was unable to break down a stubborn Newcastle defence on Sunday.

Fernandes, 28, has just two goal contributions in the Premier League this season and his performance at Old Trafford will not have inspired those who have forked out £9.8m for him. 

The 48-cap international secured two points for the third time this campaign and his 2% ownership is likely to decrease further unless he picks up some heavy points in midweek.

United face a tough task against Antonio Conte's Tottenham, who are sitting level on points with City, and keeping Fernandes may be a high risk ahead of the game.
