Prediction
Weight is the buzzword ahead of Alvarez's undisputed super-middleweight showdown with Crawford.
While 168lbs will be a new experience for 37-year-old Crawford, there are bigger factors to consider when it comes to the Las Vegas gamble.
The Nebraskan has to prove he can operate at super-middleweight, but Bud beat Israil Madrimov at 154lbs last year and there is no doubt that the 37-year-old is an all-time great.
The American has beaten Madrimov, Errol Spence Jr, David Avanesyan, Shawn Porter and Kell Brook in his last five fights and the best five victories of Bud's card have come in his last five contests.
That record demonstrates that Crawford's skill, punch variety, movement and elusiveness are all peaking and that's perhaps not the case for Canelo.
The 35-year-old Mexican was beaten by Dmitrii Bivol in 2022 and, while weight was used as a reason for that defeat, it could also be that the 35-year-old was in against a better fighter.
Since that defeat, Alvarez has fought Gennadiy Golovkin, John Ryder, Jermell Charlo, Jaime Munguia, Edgar Berlanga and William Scull.
Triple G was a top-level performer, but way past his peak by the time he took on the Guadalajara fighter for the third time.
Scull has no business in a world title fight, Charlo and Ryder retired shortly after losing to Canelo, while Berlanga has since been destroyed by Hamzah Sheeraz and Munguia lost to Bruno Surace.
The Mexican's recent record demonstrates that he hasn't faced a serious test and that's all about to change in Las Vegas.
With many big-fight nights taking place in Saudi Arabia, the buzz and noise of the crowd has been missed.
However, 65,000 fight fans will be packed into the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and that could lead to a more attacking bout.
Bud has seen 31 of his 41 career victories come by stoppage and even if the Nebraska fighter is stepping up to super-middleweight, he most certainly has the skills and ability to hurt Canelo.
The Mexican will have the size advantage in Vegas and he has the potential to trouble Crawford.
Either way, it's a contest between a 35-year-old and a 37-year-old and it may not reach the final bell.
Crawford can be backed to dethrone Canelo and cement his legacy as one of boxing's all-time greats.
