The game never looked to be as close as a few days ago after WA bowled poorly with the new ball, allowing the home side to race out of the blocks in the first innings. They cruised to 1/200 at the 34-over mark thanks to a huge 157-run opening stand between Wilson (60) and Mack (96). Despite the loss of some quick wickets, late cameos carried them to 8/301 with all the momentum going into the innings break. Unlike WA, the NSW bowlers took 4 wickets in the powerplay, and held on to their advantage as the rest of the batters fell one by one. Maddy Darke played well in a lone hand of 75*, but Samantha Bates earned today's player of the match award after snaring 4 wickets in an economical 10-over spell.
