Losing Matheus Cunha is a big blow for Wolves but they are otherwise at full strength

- Wolves have lost only two of their last 12 home matches
- Brighton have won only two of their last 11 away games in the Premier League
- Recommended bet:
Wolves to win

A place in the FA Cup quarter-final is the prize for one of Wolves or Brighton and home advantage could play a decisive role at Molineux.

There is little to separate the pair in the Premier League, with only one point splitting them after 26 games, but Wolves would be the most reliable proposition at present.

Gary O'Neil’s side have lost only two of their last 12 games in all competitions and they have recorded back-to-back Premier League successes over Tottenham and Sheffield United.

Brighton, meanwhile, have failed to win in seven of their last 12 games in all competitions and they have had issues putting their best foot forward on their travels.

The Seagulls were FA Cup semi-finalists last season but could struggle to emulate that achievement with Wolves in high spirits and in excellent form at Molineux.

Team news

Wolves have only one confirmed absentee with Matheus Cunha ruled out with a hamstring injury, otherwise O'Neil has a fully-fit squad to choose from.

Things are a touch more concerning for Brighton, who have had Joao Pedro, Jack Hinshelwood and James Milner recently join long-term absentee Solly March on the sidelines.

Elsewhere, the match is likely to come too soon for Kaoru Mitoma while Billy Gilmour starts a three-game suspension.

Wolves have lost only two of their last 12 home matches, a run which features league victories over Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea.

Both teams have scored in nine of Wolves' last 13 home matches in all competitions.

Wolves have won six of their last nine matches in the Premier League.

Brighton have won only two of their last 11 away games in the Premier League, suffering defeat in four of their last seven.

There have been at least three goals in four of the last five meetings between these clubs.

Brighton are unbeaten in five meetings with Wolves.

Prediction

Wolves are bidding to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup for the first time since 2019 and they can successfully do so with victory over Brighton, who are weakened by some key absentees.

Wolves frustrated Brighton in a goalless draw at the Amex Stadium in the Premier League in January but home advantage in this Cup clash should give them the opportunity to stamp their authority.

O’Neil’s side have excelled at home this season, losing only two of their last 12 games in all competitions, one of which came in a 4-3 defeat to Manchester United who netted their winner in the final moments.

Wins over Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham, plus draws with Villa and Newcastle, show what Wolves are capable on their own patch and their opponents are becoming quite unpredictable.

The Seagulls have been below-par in a lot of their away games this season, which is highlighted by a 6-1 hiding at Villa and a 4-0 thrashing at Luton, and this may be the wrong time to face Wolves, who have won six of their last nine league games and Cunha aside are at full strength.
