Manchester United are ahead of Chelsea in the race for Victor Osimhen but Napoli are in talks to keep the Nigerian sensation.

There are a queue of clubs lining up to try and sign the hotshot, who has plundered 25 goals from 29 outings this season.

Foot Mercato claim United are in pole position as Erik ten Hag continues his search for a striker but Chelsea are also keen.

Napoli are desperate to keep hold of the man who has fired them to the brink of a first Serie A title since Diego Maradona inspired them to glory in 1990.

They are in discussions over extending Osimhen's deal and if they fail, reports in Italy suggest they will demand £132million to sanction an exit.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly held talks with the 24-year-old's agent and will fight the Premier League duo all the way.

Harry Kane is another alternative for United, with the Tottenham talisman entering the final 12 months of his deal at the end of the season, and Roma's Tammy Abraham has also been linked.

At the other end of the field, the Daily Mail claim Ten Hag has stepped up his pursuit of Monaco centre-back Axel Disasi.
