Paris Saint-Germain are planning a swoop for Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

While the Brazil international, 26, is a key player for the Magpies, the Tyneside outfit may be forced to sell a valuable asset to raise funds for the summer and comply with Financial Fair Play rules.

According to talkSPORT, French champions PSG are looking to take advantage of the situation, with Guimaraes' current deal — which expires in 2028 — containing a £100million release clause.

Newcastle would be unable to prevent any club from activating it, which could put Luis Enrique's side in the driving seat either this month or in the summer.

Even if the Toon were to receive the full £100m for Guimaraes, losing him would represent a significant blow.

The ex-Lyon maestro has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League since moving to St James' Park in January 2022.

Last season, the South American star scored four goals and assisted five more in the top flight as Eddie Howe's men secured a Champions League qualification spot.

In-form striker Alexander Isak and key defender Sven Botman are reportedly other players Newcastle could look to offload in the near future to abide by FFP.
