- Swansea ended a run of four defeats by beating Hull on Saturday
- Leeds have won their last six Championship games
- Recommended bet: Leeds to win and both teams to score

Leeds have won their last six Championship games to rise to third in the table and another victory at Swansea on Tuesday could see them move up to second.

Southampton's form has taken the headlines, with the Saints sitting second and a point ahead of the Whites having played a game less, but they face a tricky trip to Bristol City on Tuesday.

With Leicester clear at the top and Ipswich's early season form fading, Southampton and Leeds look to be battling it out for the second automatic promotion place.

Luke Williams' Swans do not have that type of clarity, but despite their 11-point gap to the play-off places, they still have time to launch a run towards the top six, while they also need to be careful not to slip towards the bottom three.

They ended their recent poor run with Saturday's 1-0 victory at Hull, but Leeds look a step ahead and should have too much.

Team news

Swansea's Harrison Ashby, Harry Darling, Jamal Lowe and Josh Ginnelly are all absent with muscle injuries.

Daniel Farke has confirmed that former Swans winger Dan James is expected to return to the squad following a hip injury and could join Joel Piroe, Joe Rodon and Connor Roberts in lining up against their former club.

Sam Byram will miss the game due to a muscle issue, while Karl Darlow (finger), Pascal Struijk (groin) and Stuart Dallas (leg) are also absent.

The stats

Swansea had lost four in a row in all competitions before Saturday's 1-0 win at Hull City. They have been streaky this season, as they were unbeaten in four before then.

Leeds have won their last six Championship games, keeping clean sheets in five of those games.

The Whites' striker Patrick Bamford has scored five times in 2024.

Leeds have not received a yellow card in their last two Championship matches.

Predictions

The first half of Leeds' season was primarily built on their excellent home form, with their tally of 40 points at Elland Road the best that any side in this season's Championship has managed on their own patch.

They have started to match that form on the road, winning their last two away league games. They also secured an extra-time victory at Plymouth in the FA Cup.

Swansea will be buoyed by Saturday's victory and, having taken the lead in the first minute of the reverse game, will feel they can breach Leeds' in-form defence.

Southampton's form means Farke and his players may feel they cannot afford any slip-ups as they push for promotion, but they will be full of confidence following their recent run.

Their hosts' inconsistency makes them dangerous, but the Whites should have enough to grab a seventh straight league victory.
