- Swansea have lost five of their last six matches
- Ipswich won 4-0 at Millwall on Wednesday night
- Recommended bet: Ipswich Win & Over 1.5 Goals

Luke Williams took charge of Swansea ahead of a cruel run of fixtures and it is no surprise that he is finding life in the Championship tough.

His first six league matches have included showdowns against Southampton, Leicester and Leeds and they have lost all three by a 10-2 aggregate.

Now they must take on the last of tier two’s top four in Ipswich and Williams has to be fearing the worst.

Team news

Kyle Naughton should swap with Bashir Humphreys, who limped out of the drubbing by Leeds. Calls for giant striker Mykola Kukharevych to finally get a start may go unanswered.

Ipswich have picked up no new injuries with Brandon Williams, Jack Taylor, Janoi Donacien and George Hirst still out.

New signing Ali Al Hamadi will be looking for a first start after scoring in the win at Millwall.

The stats

Swansea have conceded 14 first-half goals in their last seven matches out of 18 conceded in total.

Only QPR and Rotherham have won fewer home games this season than the Swans, who have lost three in a row at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Fourteen of Ipswich’s matches have produced over 3.5 goals, a joint high with Plymouth.

Prediction

Swansea were mercilessly picked apart by Leeds on Tuesday night as they crashed to a 4-0 defeat.

It was a third home loss in a row and their record against the division’s best sides does not augur well for Saturday afternoon’s showdown.

Swansea have played seven league games against Leicester, Leeds, Southampton and Ipswich this term, losing all seven with an aggregate goal difference of 25-5.

They will be glad to see the back of that quartet but are destined to sign off with a defeat at home to an Ipswich side who rediscovered their mojo during the week with a thumping 4-0 triumph at Millwall.

In fairness to them, there had not been a lot wrong with Kieran McKenna’s promotion challengers prior to that victory, they were just struggling to put together wins during a run of 11 matches in which they prevailed just twice.

They were drawing plenty, however, with six stalemates in that streak, but the classy drubbing of the Lions in South London will have done them the power of good.

Ipswich have plenty of forward options and against a Swansea high line which Williams is stubbornly, arguably naively, persevering with, the visitors can pick them off at their leisure.
