Draw

There is nothing to split Swansea and Blackburn ahead of Saturday's Championship encounter, and a close game is expected when the two teams meet at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Blackburn and Swansea are both locked on 39 points with a -12 goal difference, with the Lancashire club only ahead due to the fact they have scored five more goals than the Swans.

Swansea go into the game on the back of a 2-1 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, while Blackburn took Newcastle to penalties before losing in the FA Cup in midweek.

Team news

Swansea coach Luke Williams will hope to stick with the same starting XI that beat Sunderland, but four players remain on the injured list.

Bashir Humphreys, Harrison Ashby and Josh Ginnelly could all return in a few weeks, while Liam Walsh is expected to be unavailable for another month.

Both Jamal Lowe and Josh Key will hope to return to the squad with a place on the bench after recent injury issues, while Jay Fulton, Oliver Cooper and Jerry Yates are hoping to be recalled.

Blackburn coach John Eustace will be without Ryan Hedges due to a groin injury, while Harry Leonard will need to pass a fitness test.

Joe Rankin-Costello, John Fleck and Hayden Carter remain sidelined for a few weeks at least.

The last two meetings between the two clubs have finished 1-0 at Ewood Park, with Blackburn winning this home fixture last season while Swansea got the better of them in October.

Swansea have lost four in a row at home in the Championship, but recent wins at play-off hopefuls Hull and Sunderland have lifted the spirits within the fanbase.

Eustace's men are still adjusting to his methods after his arrival in early February, and Rovers are winless in five in all competitions.

Away from home, they are winless in eight but they have drawn the last two, having lost the previous six.

Prediction

Both teams need to pick up a few wins to be sure of safety this season, so neither side will be giving anything away on Saturday.

The form of both and their place in the standings indicate an evenly-matched pair, and there is little to suggest one of these teams will have the better of the action on Saturday.

Swansea have struggled to please their fans at home, having lost their last four, while Blackburn's travelling support last watched them win in November.

Both Williams and Eustace will be aiming to avoid defeat first and foremost, and a cagey and low-scoring battle is expected with the points ultimately being shared.
