Arsene Wenger will make his Soccer Aid debut this summer as the Arsenal legend returns to management with the World XI.

The Frenchman will be up against Harry Redknapp in the England dugout at the London Stadium on June 12.

One Direction heartthrob Liam Payne is set to captain the hosts against Usain Bolt’s challengers, with the sides having won five apiece heading into the 11th edition of the summer event.

FIFA bigwig Wenger said: "It's great and special to play a football match together with former opponents for a good purpose.

"Football unites, football gives hope and I am looking forward to making my contribution."

Opposite number Redknapp has won three in a row as World XI manager and will now switch sides as he looks to restore some national pride.

He said: "Not that I was keeping score — but they tell me that England haven’t won since 2018. Oh dear.

"Anyone who knows me will tell you that I would never turn my country down."

On Redknapp changing allegiance, sprint king Bolt added: "I had the pleasure of competing in the London Stadium as an athlete many times, including the 2012 Olympic Games.

"The crowd were amazing every time I competed there and created a special energy and atmosphere. I look forward to returning in June to play again for the Soccer Aid World XI.

"I can’t believe Harry has left us to manage England  — I guess they need all the help they can get! But welcome Mr Wenger!

"Buy your tickets today and support this great cause."

In addition to the football, UNICEF ambassador and lifelong Port Vale fan Robbie Williams will sing smash hit Angels at half-time.

More participants will be announced in the build-up to the event but below are the Soccer Aid squads so far.
