What is the Premier League Summer Series?

The Summer Series is a new annual pre-season tournament for invited top-flight clubs.

Six sides will take part in nine matches every year across a host of different locations in the US, giving Premier League fans Stateside the chance to see their heroes in the flesh.

It also gives the teams taking part an extra competitive edge to their pre-season schedule, taking on domestic rivals in packed-out stadiums.

Which sides are taking part in the 2023 Premier League Summer Series?

The inaugural Summer Series will see Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton, Chelsea, Fulham and Newcastle battle for glory.

It is a high-quality field, with the Blues the only participant not to have secured a top-half finish in the Premier League last season.

When is the 2023 Premier League Summer Series taking place?

This year's Summer Series will kick off on July 22 when Chelsea and Brighton clash in Philadelphia.

The remaining fixtures are then played out over an eight-day period, including three separate double-headers — giving those in attendance the chance to watch back-to-back games.

Full 2023 Premier League Super Series fixtures (All kick-off times are Eastern Time Zone):

July 22, 7pm: Chelsea vs Brighton (Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia)

July 23, 4pm: Fulham vs Brentford followed by Newcastle vs Aston Villa (Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia)

July 26, 5.30pm: Brentford vs Brighton followed by Newcastle vs Chelsea (Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta)

July 26, 7pm: Fulham vs Aston Villa (Exploria Stadium, Orlando)

July 28, 7.30pm: Brighton vs Newcastle (Red Bull Arena, Harrison)

July 30, 12pm: Aston Villa vs Brentford followed by Chelsea vs Fulham (FedExField, Landover)
