- Both teams have scored in Luton's last eight league and cup defeats
- Aston Villa's last six games all had over 2.5 goals
- Recommended bet:
Aston Villa to win and both teams to score

Luton's attacking ethos has been hugely impressive this season but injuries and fatigue may be catching up with the Hatters.

They were hammered 6-2 by Manchester City in Tuesday's FA Cup fifth-round tie when Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne tore apart the home defence at Kenilworth Road.

Rob Edwards' men face another in-form attacking unit in the shape of Champions League hopefuls Aston Villa, who have won three of their last four league matches, scoring 12 goals in the process.

Team news

Luton are set to be missing Elijah Adebayo, Jacob Brown, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Dan Potts, Amari'i Bell, Marvelous Nakamba, Mads Andersen and Tom Lockyer.

Manchester City loanee Issa Kabore is available after sitting out the FA Cup tie against his parent club and January signing Daiki Hashioka could make his first Premier League appearance.

Aston Villa hope to have centre-backs Pau Torres and Ezri Konsa available after injuries.

Calum Chambers could deputise if Torres is not passed fit but Diego Carlos, Boubacar Kamara, Emiliano Buendia, Jhon Duran and Tyrone Mings remain sidelined.

Both teams have scored in Luton's last eight league and cup defeats.

The Hatters' last four home games have featured 12 first-half goals.

Luton have failed to score in only three of their last 25 home matches in all competitions.

Aston Villa's last six games all had over 2.5 goals.

Villa striker Ollie Watkins has contributed 14 goals and 10 assists in 26 league starts this season.

Three of Villa's last four away wins were by a 2-1 scoreline.

Prediction

Luton finished their January schedule with a stunning 4-0 home win over Brighton in the Premier League but February was far less kind to the Hatters.

After a 4-4 draw at Newcastle, they lost at home to bottom club Sheffield United and Manchester United before a 4-1 reverse at Liverpool and Tuesday's FA Cup rout against champions City.

The reduction of Everton's points deduction was another blow to Luton's survival hopes and they can expect no mercy from Aston Villa, who thrashed Sheffield United 5-0 at Bramall Lane last month.

Villa, knocked out of the cup by Chelsea in round four, had no midweek fixture so should be raring to go against a depleted Luton side who were given the runaround by City.

Backing Luton's opponents and both teams to score has been a winning bet in their last four matches in all competitions and that trend may well continue on Saturday.

Villa's defence has also been hit by injuries but they won October's reverse fixture 3-1 and have beaten Fulham 2-1 and Nottingham Forest 4-2 in their last two league fixtures.
