Newton Abbot hosts a seven-race card on Monday

There are seven races from Newton Abbot in Devon on Monday as jumps racing continues.

LiveScore Five To Follow at Newton Abbot on Monday

1.15pm - Visit attheraces.com Novices' Hurdle (2m2½f)

A first win looks on the cards for SMALL BAD BOB, who has been runner-up on his last two outings. This horse has improved since switching to Paul Henderson's yard earlier this year and the six-year-old finished second at this course over 2m1f last time out.

That form has been franked as the winner has since come out and won again and this longer trip should also suit the gelding, so expect to see him with his nose in front this time.

LiveScore Selection: Small Bad Bob

1.45pm - Tigers Selling Hurdle (2m2½f)

There is just a small field for this selling hurdle contest and it a good chance for COOLE WELL to add to his account on his return to hurdles.

This horse is rated 3lb higher over fences following some good form this year. Before he switched to chasing, Fergal O'Brien's runner was faring well over hurdles and has had a wind-op since his last hurdles start so more can be expected now.

This does not look to be a strong contest so it could be the perfect place for him to return.

LiveScore Selection: Coole Well

2.20pm William Hill Betting TV Handicap Hurdle (2m5½f)

Success for KILMINGTON ROSE in this handicap hurdle would see the mare complete an impressive four-timer.

Her last two wins have come at this course, including a C&D victory last month, and Paul Nicholls' hurdler has made a mockery of her handicap mark in recent weeks and you could argue she remains ahead of the handicapper.

This is obviously her toughest test to date but it would be no surprise to see her pass it and climb further up the official ratings.

LiveScore Selection: Kilmington Rose

4.05pm - newtonabbotracing.com Handicap Chase (2m5f)

JOLY MAKER was produced with a well-timed run at Huntingdon (2m4f) on his latest outing to get up late on for his third victory over fences.

Jonjo O'Neill's runner has gone up 5lb for that success, but it is unlikely to be enough to prevent him from following up.

The extra furlong he will encounter here should suit the seven-year-old. Apprentice William Marshall will take 7lb off his back again and he is well worth that claim.

LiveScore Selection: Joly Maker

4.38pm - Talk Tidy Marketing Mares' Open NH Flat Race (2m)

The standard is set in this mares' National Hunt flat race by MATTIE ROSE, who has two runner-up finishes to her name.

She went down by less than a length at Southwell (2m) on her latest effortand the experience on the track should really favour Richard Phillips' mare here in her bid to break her maiden at the fourth attempt.

The extra 1f is also likely to be appreciated. She is the one they all have to beat.

LiveScore Selection: Mattie Rose.
