There's plenty of exciting action set to take place at Goodwood on Friday

Here are five horses to follow at the course on the Sussex Downs. The action begins at 5.25pm and runs through to 8.30pm.

LiveScore Five To Follow at Goodwood on Friday

6pm - C Lewis Worldwide 'Free Money' EBF Novices Stakes (6f)

Ralph Beckett could have a very smart two-year-old colt on his hands with UNSPOKEN. He made a winning debut over this trip at Nottingham last month so is appearing here with a penalty on his back.

Beckett's runner did not look like a debutant on that first appearance. He settled well into the race and had a sharp turn of foot to stretch away from his rivals in the closing stages. He should be taken to double his tally and is a horse to follow this season.

LiveScore Selection: Unspoken

6.30pm Back To Goodwood Handicap (6f)

AMATHUS picked up his first win since moving to Patrick Chamings' yard when he scored at Salisbury (6f) back in April. The margin of success was only a nose but it was a good run as he recovered from a slow start to get up late on.

The four-year-old has only been handed a 2lb rise in the weights so this task is well within his reach. The danger is going to come from the vastly experienced Iconic Knight, however, he has lost his last seven races now so he may have just lost that winning touch.

LiveScore Selection: Amathus

7pm Hunscote Stud Fillies' Handicap (6f)

This is the best race on this evening card from Goodwood. There are some really pacey fillies lining up, including Fairy Dust who was competing in Group company in 2020.

There is also the C&D winner Bimble. She was unlucky not to prevail here last time out.

Preference should be given to OPERATIC who is returning to action for the first time since last October. She won back-to-back races last September, including a seven-length success at Windsor (6f).

This horse remains unexposed so could be a lot better than her mark of 89 suggests.

LiveScore Selection: Operatic

7.30pm - L'Ormarins Queens Plate Handicap (1m4f)

Recent winners Ravens Ark and Monsaraz are entitled to warrant respect in this race as they look to follow up, the latter of which is bidding for a hat-trick.

The horse which came close to victory on his most recent appearance was GLOBAL ART. He was second of 10 runners over this distance on the all-weather at Lingfield.

A return to turf will not be a problem for Ed Dunlop's six-year-old who remains off a mark which gives him an excellent chance of getting into the winner's enclosure.

LiveScore Selection: Global Art

8.30pm Charlton Hun Handicap (1m4f)

There are just five runners for the finale on this card but it is arguably the most fascinating race of the evening. You cannot rule out any of these five horses from coming out on top.

LOVE IS GOLDEN appreciated the better ground last time at Chester and the son of Golden Horn will face fast conditions again here. He should be favoured to give trainer Mark Johnston a winner and take a step up the ratings.
