- Leeds are unbeaten in 16 home games this season, winning 12 times
- Seven of Joel Piroe's 10 goals for Leeds have come at Elland Road
- Recommended bet: Joel Piroe to score first

Promotion back to the Premier League is the ultimate aim this season for Leeds, who moved to within two points of the Championship's top two with a 1-0 win over Norwich on Wednesday.

However, a home fourth-round tie with Plymouth also gives the Elland Road club an excellent chance of progressing to the last 16 of the FA Cup.

Leeds are yet to be beaten on home soil this season, while visiting Argyle have yet to win on the road in 14 attempts.

Team news

Winger Dan James went off at half-time in Leeds' win over Norwich with a hip flexor issue and will miss out, but Italy international Wilfried Gnonto is available after injury and could deputise for the Welshman.

Archie Gray came off late on against the Canaries, but his knee injury is not as serious as was first feared.

Plymouth's Leeds loanee Darko Gyabi is ineligible to face his parent club, while new signings Alfie Devine and former United midfielder Adam Forshaw are cup-tied.

On-loan Tottenham defender Ashley Phillips and wing-back Matty Sorinola are available for the trip to Elland Road, though.

The stats

Leeds have made Elland Road a fortress this season, winning 12 and drawing four of their 16 home games in all competitions.

Wednesday's 1-0 win over Norwich was their fifth victory in succession and marked the first time in the club's history that they have won their opening five games of a year.

Patrick Bamford scored the only goal against the Canaries and he has now scored in four of his last five matches, which includes a stunning volley in Leeds' FA Cup third-round win at Peterborough.

Visitors Plymouth are yet to win an away games this season, with only six draws to show for their efforts on the road.

Argyle are winless in their last nine meetings with Leeds, who have been 2-1 winners on five occasions in that spell of dominance.

Prediction

After a rocky end to 2023, Leeds have made a great start to the new year and will fancy their chances of beating Plymouth to make the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Daniel Farke's hosts have won their first five matches of 2024, with Patrick Bamford on the scoresheet in four of those wins.

Bamford, who has suffered with injuries in recent seasons, could be given a breather against Argyle, but such are the strength of Leeds' attacking options that Daniel Farke has a ready-made replacement waiting in the wings.

Joel Piroe has scored ten goals for Leeds this season and should get a chance to lead the line again on Saturday.

Piroe kept his cool to net a match-winning penalty against Preston last weekend and he was also on target when Leeds beat Plymouth 2-1 in the Championship in October.

At 9/2, the Dutch striker looks a nice price to open the scoring at Elland Road on Saturday.
