- Ipswich have won ten of their 14 home league games
- West Brom have won only four away games in the Championship

It has been a testing couple of weeks for Ipswich, who followed their shock exit to Maidstone United in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 3-2 defeat to Preston last time out in the Championship.

The Tractor Boys look seriously short of confidence right now, with just one win picked up in their last eight league games in the second tier and things do not get any easier on Saturday.

This weekend's opponents West Brom are 11 points worse off than Ipswich, but are just a spot below them in the table and will be hoping to capitalise on Ipswich's decline in form at Portman Road.

Team news

Tractor Boys boss Kieran McKenna has no new injury worries.

Jayson Molumby is set to be sidelined for the rest of the season for Albion, who will likely be without both Grady Diangana and Semi Ajayi, who have been away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The stats

Ipswich have won just one of their last eight games in the Championship, having drawn five matches as part of that streak.

Ten of Ipswich's 17 league wins this season have come at Portman Road.

Conor Chaplin is Ipswich's top scorer in the league with nine goals.

As for West Brom, they have struggled on their travels this season, winning just four of their 14 away games in the Championship.

Carlos Corberan has seen West Brom win two and lose two of their last four Championship games

Prediction

Ipswich cannot afford to keep dropping points at the rate they are right now if they are to secure a play-off spot in the Championship.

Not too long ago, the Tractor Boys were in prime position to take the second automatic qualifying spot behind Leicester, but Southampton and Leeds have since leapfrogged them.

Fortunately for McKenna's men, there is a sizable gap between themsleves in fourth and West Brom in fifth and they can assert their superiority on Saturday.

Despite their recent run, Ipswich have still lost only two of their last 12 league games – one was away to high-flyers Leeds and the other was also on the road in a tight contest with Preston.

They managed to hold Leicester to two draws in their recent streak and they are a team with goals in them, scoring 53 times in 29 matches.

Only Leicester and Leeds (both 37) have collected more points at home in the Championship than Ipswich (33) and Portman Road has been a tough place to visit.

That does not bode well for the Baggies, who have struggled on their travels and who are worth opposing in Suffolk.
