Darren Moore's Huddersfield side take on Preston on Tuesday

- Huddersfield are unbeaten in their last four games
- Preston have won just one of their last seven away matches
- Recommended bet: Huddersfield to win

The Championship is in the midst of its typically hectic winter schedule and, after a full weekend of fixtures, the action gets back underway on Tuesday with more games across the division.

Huddersfield, down in 21st, extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a draw with Bristol City on Saturday and they are now making good progress in distancing themselves from the relegation zone.

They host ninth-placed Preston on Tuesday, who drew 0-0 at Norwich on Saturday and arrive in Yorkshire in poor form, having thrown away their magnificent start to the season and play-off berth in recent weeks.

Team news

Oliver Turton, Josh Ruffels, Jack Rudoni, Patrick Jones, Kyle Hudlin and Kian Harratt are all missing for Huddersfield, with the majority not expected back until the new year.

However, Darren Moore has no fresh injury concerns.

Preston too also have no new injuries, with forward Milutin Osmajic their only confirmed absentee.

Emil Riis is back in training and could make the bench for this fixture.

The stats

Huddersfield are unbeaten in their last four games.

Preston have won just one of their last seven away matches.

Five of Huddersfield’s last six games have seen less than three goals scored, while the Lilywhites have failed to score in their last three matches.

Prediction

Darren Moore is finally getting a tune out of Huddersfield and they have picked up some good results in recent weeks, beating Sunderland at the Stadium of Light as well as drawing with Watford and Southampton at home.

They have found it difficult to win games, with their victory over the Black Cats their only success in their last eight matches, but they have drawn four times in that run and could start turning one point into three very soon.

North End were top of the league early in the season, but now find themselves down in ninth place having won only two of their last 13 Championship matches.

They have failed to win any of their last four matches, embarrassingly losing 2-0 to struggling QPR at Deepdale in that run, and have not even managed a goal in their last three games.

Preston lost the shot count 18 to six in their 0-0 draw at Norwich on Saturday and a repeat of that performance would surely see them lose at the John Smith's Stadium against a rejuvenated Huddersfield.

The Terriers are in solid form and have lost just one of their last eight home matches, suggesting they should be too strong for the faltering Lilywhites on Tuesday.
