- Liverpool have scored at least twice in nine of their 15 league away games this season
- Nine of Fulham’s last 11 games have featured at least three goals
- Recommended bet:
Liverpool to win & both teams to score

Liverpool are fresh from a Europa League exit and have ground to make up in the race for the Premier League title, so nothing but a victory at Fulham will do for Jurgen Klopp’s men on Sunday.

A win is required to keep pressure on leaders Manchester City, but the Cottagers could at least make their mark in what looks an intriguing west London encounter.

Team news

Fulham boss Marco Silva will be delighted that he has no injury or suspension issues for the weekend clash, so it would not be a surprise if he keeps faith with the team that earned a 2-0 victory at West Ham last weekend.

Liverpool have few headaches either with no fresh issues arising from their 1-0 win at Atalanta on Thursday, although Conor Bradley, Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip will not feature.

The stats

Goals have been a theme for Marco Silva's Fulham this season, while they have scored in seven of their last eight games against Liverpool

Four of Liverpool’s past five league away games have featured at least four goals.

Liverpool have scored at least twice in nine of their 15 league away games this season.

The Reds have kept one clean sheet in their last 10 matches.

Nine of Fulham’s last 11 games have featured at least three goals.

The Cottagers have scored three or more goals in seven of their 16 home league matches this term.

Nine of Fulham’s 12 league wins this season have come at Craven Cottage.

Prediction

A look at Liverpool’s remaining Premier League fixtures before last weekend would have probably identified a trip to Fulham as a potential banana skin, but Sunday’s clash at Craven Cottage has taken on even greater importance after the Reds’ shock defeat to Crystal Palace at Anfield.

A Mohamed Salah penalty was not enough to repair the damage of a 3-0 home Europa League defeat to Atalanta before that loss to the Eagles and three points from their trip to west London are crucial if Jurgen Klopp’s final season at Liverpool is not going to fall flat.

His team are creating chances but not taking them — they dominated their last away league game at Manchester United but had to be content with a draw — although things could come together on the banks of the Thames.

However, it is worth taking a chance that the home side, buoyed by their 2-0 win at West Ham last week, can at least get on the scoresheet.

Neighbours Chelsea are the only team outside the top six to have scored more home goals than Fulham’s tally of 29 and there is a decent chance the Cottagers can score against a team who have struggled keeping clean sheets recently.
