Welcome to the Cottage

Fulham have confirmed the signing of defender Timothy Castagne from Leicester.

The Belgian has signed a four-year contract and has the option of extending his stay in West London for a further year.

On his move, the Cottagers' new No21 said: "I feel very good. It's been a long transfer window but finally I'm here and I'm happy to be here.

"It's a big relief. I've talked to the manager and I just can't wait to start training and playing."

Vice chairman and director of football operations Tony Khan added: "I'm excited to welcome Timothy Castagne to Fulham.

"He's a versatile and very talented defender with great experience in the Premier League and international competition for Belgium.

"I'm pleased that Timothy has committed to a four-year contract with us and we believe that he'll be an excellent addition to Marco [Silva's] squad."

Beto arrives

Everton have confirmed the signing of Udinese striker Beto for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old has signed a four-year contract and will be looking to make an instant impact as the Toffees seek Premier League survival.

Everton's new No14 has reached double figures for goals in each of his past four seasons across spells at Portimonense and Udinese.

The Goodison Park arrival said: "It feels good to join Everton. I have always appreciated them as a club.

"Everton is a big, big club in the Premier League, well respected and has big history. It was easy to make this move.

"I can bring courage, I can bring confidence and I think my biggest thing is effort. I will always bring enthusiasm to the team and to our games. I feel like my style is a really good fit with Everton."

Foster's fury

Former Wrexham goalkeeper Ben Foster has labelled Arsenal signing David Raya as "pathetic".

Foster, 40, recently announced his retirement from professional football after struggling to adapt to life back in League Two with the Red Dragons.

But he has since publicly criticised the Gunners' decision to bring in competition for Aaron Ramsdale.

He said: "I hate it, it's pathetic. It's something that didn't need to happen. They did not need to sign David Raya.

"He's [Ramsdale] been a top goalie for two years. He's on the edge of being England's No1 with Jordan Pickford, he's right there.

"When he's full of confidence and he's got a manager putting his arm around him, he's as good as anyone in this country."

Poch's praise

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has praised the club's work in the transfer window this summer.

The Blues have been busy as they look to reshape their bloated squad for the former Tottenham manager.

But the Argentine seems content with the incomings and outgoings as we approach Friday's deadline.

He said: "The club is doing a fantastic job. We are a business. I'm sure the plan was to do a lot of business and change the project.

"That is why the club is working so hard to deliver it but it's never easy to do everything in one month.

"Until the end, we try to do things to improve the squad. I am really happy with the squad I have at the moment. We can improve certain positions, of course. If not, I am very happy with where we are right now."

Tottenham have released their new third kit ahead of their Carabao Cup clash with Fulham tonight.

The North London outfit will wear their new threads for the first time at Craven Cottage and the strip will be available for fans to purchase from Friday.

Manor Solomon could feature in the new kit as he returns to the club he was on loan at during the 2022-23 season.

The beige shirt completes the club's collection for the 2023-24 campaign, which has once again been designed by sporting apparel giants Nike.

Leading the Herd

John Herdman will become the new head coach of Major League Soccer side Toronto in October.

The 48-year-old will be leaving his role as the manager of Canada's national team to pick up the reins for the Eastern Conference's bottom-place side.

With just three wins from 26 matches in MLS, Herdman will face a tough challenge.

On his new role, Herdman said: "It's the right time for me to step into a new challenge in my career and the structure of a club environment is a context I've aspired to operate in."
