Emma Hayes is relishing the challenge of competing on four fronts during her last season in charge of Chelsea.

The Blues are chasing a fifth successive Women's Super League crown and are also on course to progress to the knockout phase of the Champions League, while their FA Cup and Conti Cup campaigns are yet to begin.

And Hayes, who will depart Kingsmeadow in the summer to manage the United States women's side, believes she has the squad to add a final glorious chapter to her trophy-laden spell in London.

Speaking to Chelsea's official website, she said: "We have to keep everyone healthy so we can start the new year in a good place but this is a dressing room that's built to compete.

"We love every half of the season — and we certainly know what to do in the second half.

"We have had a good break, will come back fresh and be ready to go. There are multiple competitions to win.

Before kicking off their defence of the FA Cup and resuming their WSL campaign later this month, Hayes and her squad head to Morocco for warmer climes today.

With the Blues having already picked up 25 points from 10 league games, they are well placed to continue to dominate.

And while the winter break is crucial to keeping her players fresh, 47-year-old Hayes is looking forward to putting them through their paces in the sun.

She added: "How can you not be excited by this team? They are a great bunch of people and they're always pushing to get better,

"I'm enjoying the way we're playing, I'm enjoying their company and how they continue to set new standards for themselves. I look forward to building on that in the second half of the season."

While the Chelsea faithful will be sad to see Hayes leave, her achievements will never be forgotten.

And she insists anyone looking to follow in her footsteps should give it everything.

Hayes said: "Shoot for the moon in anything you do. Don't let anybody get in the way of that."
