Christian Pulisic is keen to get back on track under Stefano Pioli

Christian Pulisic has left Chelsea for AC Milan as the Stamford Bridge clearout continues.

The United States forward, 24, follows fellow Blues cast-off Ruben Loftus-Cheek to the San Siro.

Kalidou Koulibaly, Mateo Kovacic, Edouard Mendy, Kai Havertz, N'Golo Kante, Cesar Azpilicueta and Mason Mount have also departed this summer as the Londoners rebuild under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Pulisic, who has already trained with Milan after being handed a four-year deal, said: "It's a new start.

"My last two seasons at Chelsea were complicated. I didn't fully show what I can do. Now, I want to start afresh at a big club.

"I'm delighted to be here and I'm excited and honoured. Everything truly is special at AC Milan. You can breathe in the history and you just want to come here.

"I'll try to help the team with the aim of winning trophies. I'll be looking to grow and raise my level.

"I'll have to learn a lot of things, including from a tactical perspective, but I can't wait. It'll be great to play in the Champions League in this shirt.

"Thanks to my time at Chelsea, I have experience in the competition. I'll give everything."

Pulisic arrived at Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 for £58million but failed to live up to expectations.

He scored 26 goals in 145 outings for the Blues yet struggled to nail down a regular first-team role under Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel or Graham Potter.

Injuries and inconsistent form restricted Pulisic to just eight Premier League starts last season, with a further 16 appearances from the bench as Chelsea finished 12th.

He will now hope to boost Stefano Pioli's forward line at Milan, who ended up 20 points behind Serie A champions Napoli in fourth last term.
