Cheltenham is the biggest racing event in the calendar and draws in seasoned racing enthusiasts and passing interest sports fans in equal measure.

The top-class sport on show is a huge draw, but so, too, are the punting opportunities. Whether it is racing regulars or casual punters, the Cheltenham Festival has an allure like nothing else.

This year's Cheltenham Festival is from Tuesday March 14 to Friday March 17, and here we take a look at some of the ways to bet at the meeting.

Betting on the Cheltenham Festival

The Cheltenham Festival is a four-day-long extravaganza of National Hunt excellence. There are many opportunities to bet on the 28 races that take place at the meeting.

Singles

This is the most obvious and straightforward bet on a Cheltenham Festival race and involves backing one horse to either win outright or in the each way market for a race.

To win only, the horse must be the race winner. Each-way terms differ from race to race depending on the number of runners but, generally, will refer to three or four places with 1/5 odds paid. LiveScore Bet will, however, be offering a number of extra each-way places across Cheltenham week so keep an eye out for those.

Multiples

Punters may also be keen to have multiples on more than one horse at the Cheltenham Festival. These multiples, or accumulators, can involve two, three or more horses to win different races across the four days.

An accumulator multiple, if placed win-only, requires all selections to win. A multiple bet each way can also be placed where all selections must win for that portion of the bet to be a success, but also where placed finishes can accumulate too.

Lucky 15s

The 'Lucky 15' bet is a popular multiple bet involving four selections, amounting to 15 individual bets across four different events. In this case, it would be four other Cheltenham Festival races.

This bet type consists of 4 singles, 6 doubles, 4 trebles and 1 four-fold accumulator. In order to gain a return, the punter requires at least one of the four selections to be a winner.

The more winning selections on the bet, the more the profit that will be returned.

Cheltenham Specials

As the Cheltenham Festival is a racing event like no other, there are also a range of special markets offered both in the lead-up to the meeting and each day that it is on.

Examples already in play at LiveScore Bet include:

Willie Mullins Trained Winners - odds on the number of winners the most successful trainer in Festival history with pick up over the course of the week.

There are also markets for Top Jockey and Top Trainer - can anyone spring a surprise and beat odds-on favourites Paul Townend and the aforementioned Mullins here?

More Cheltenham Festival specials will appear as March 12 gets closer.
