There is a potential Premier League title decider on Saturday as top-of-the-table Chelsea face last season’s champions Manchester City.

It is a repeat of the Champions League final, with managers Thomas Tuchel and Pep Guardiola boasting some of the world’s best players in their squads.

But which stars would get the nod in a combined side? We take on the tricky task of picking an XI here.

Goalkeeper: Ederson (Manchester City)

Edouard Mendy has impressed in the Chelsea goal since his arrival 12 months ago but City stopper Ederson edges him out in this team.

The Brazilian has been a mainstay in between the sticks as his side stormed to three Premier League titles in four years, while he picked up a league-high 19 clean sheets last season.

Right-back: Kyle Walker (Manchester City)

It is a toss-up between England pair Kyle Walker and Reece James but the City man starring at Euro 2020 and his added experience at the top level sees him take the shirt.

The 31-year-old has racked up 320 top-flight appearances and continues to be avital asset defensively and offensively with his lightning pace.

Centre-back: Ruben Dias (Manchester City)

Centre-back is one of the simpler decisions as last season’s PFA Player of the Year Ruben Dias slots into the line-up.

The Portuguese transformed City’s defence after arriving from Benfica last summer as he helped the Citizens wrest the title back from Liverpool in convincing style.

Centre-back: Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea)

Having looked a certainty to depart Stamford Bridge at the start of last season, Antonio Rudiger has enjoyed a remarkable renaissance under Tuchel.

The 28-year-old is now one of the first names on the Chelsea team sheet, and was recently described by Rio Ferdinand as the best defender in the Premier League.

Left-back: Joao Cancelo (Manchester City)

Portuguese international Joao Cancelo has spent much of his career playing at right-back but has made the left side of defence his own.

The 27-year-old is solid defensively and is often one of City’s main attacking threats, which sees him pip Chelsea pair Marcos Alonso and Ben Chilwell to a starting spot.

Midfield: N’Golo Kante (Chelsea)

Hailed as one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe for several years, Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante was always a shoo-in for this team.

The Frenchman was a key man in Chelsea’s Champions League win last season, while he showed his class this term with a starring display off the bench against Spurs.

Midfield: Jorginho (Chelsea)

Two seasons ago, Jorginho would have been nowhere near making this side but such as been his recent turnaround at Chelsea, he seems impossible to ignore.

The Euro 2020 winner with Italy is the Blues' heartbeat and in recent games, they have not looked the same when the UEFA Player of the Year has been rested.

Midfield: Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

Just as Kante is one of the best in his role, Kevin De Bruyne continues to hold the same regard in his.

The Belgian has an incredible 107 assists in 265 appearances for City and his expert creative abilities would easily fit into any side in world football.

Right wing: Kai Havertz (Chelsea)

Kai Havertz's goal was the reason Chelsea lifted the Champions League and the German’s increased game time over Riyad Mahrez sees him earn a place in this side.

The 22-year-old initially found it hard to settle in England since arriving from Bayer Leverkusen but is now a key component of Chelsea’s forward line.

Striker: Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea)

Leading the line in this star-studded side is Chelsea frontman Romelu Lukaku, who has made a blistering start this season after returning to the club from Inter Milan.

Four goals in his first five games in all competitions have further cemented the Belgian as one of Europe’s most prolific marksmen with his physical strength, blistering pace and clinical finishing proving a handful for any defender.

Left wing: Jack Grealish (Manchester City)

Adding some creativity and guile to this front line is City’s £100million man Jack Grealish, who has made a bright start since his British record move from Aston Villa.

Since the start of last season, only Bruno Fernandes has created more chances than the England international and he already looks the part despite a step up in quality after joining Guardiola’s side.
