Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola may be putting more focus on the FA Cup than promotion-chasing Leicester

- Bournemouth thrashed Swansea 5-0 at home in the last round
- Leicester have lost their last two games against Middlesbrough and Leeds
- Recommended bet: Back Bournemouth to win and both teams to score

A place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup is at stake at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday, as Premier League outfit Bournemouth host Championship leaders Leicester.

The Cherries are in a sticky run of form, failing to win any of their last five matches, but three of those fixtures have ended in draws and they pushed Manchester City hard last time out when losing 1-0.

Leicester's main focus this season is getting promoted from the Championship and they will not want to take their eye off that prize, with two defeats in a row cutting their lead at the summit to six points.

Team news

Tyler Adams, Max Aarons, Ryan Fredericks and James Hill are all ruled out of this clash for Bournemouth due to injury, while Philip Billing is suspended.

Lloyd Kelly is struggling with a hip issue that kept him out of the defeat to City and will be assessed closer to the time.

Leicester are set to be without Jamie Vardy for the second game running after he missed the Leeds loss with a groin problem, while Wilfred Ndidi remains sidelined.

The stats

Bournemouth have defeated two Championship sides to reach this stage of the competition, beating QPR 3-2 before thumping Swansea 5-0.

The Cherries have been in mixed form at home over the past couple of months, recording three wins, two draws and two defeats from their last seven matches.

Leicester's lead at the top of the Championship has been cut to six points following back-to-back defeats to Middlesbrough and Leeds.

The Foxes have scored in each of their last 10 away assignments in all competitions, last failing to find the back of the net on the road on November 11.

Prediction

Leicester are not sitting as comfortably at the top of the Championship as they were a couple of weeks ago and it would be no surprise if they exit the FA Cup with promotion the main aim.

The Foxes have been poor at the back in their last two matches, conceding two against Middlesbrough and three at Leeds, and Bournemouth can exploit these defensive frailties.

Although not yet safe, Andoni Iraola's side are unlikely to get relegated from the Premier League and, therefore, can put a large focus on going even further in this competition.

The Cherries have not kept a clean sheet in their last five outings, a statistic that may not change given the attacking threats of Leicester, but Bournemouth have shown their scoring power in the FA Cup with five notched across the last two rounds.

Expect a high-scoring affair at the Vitality that the hosts can edge.
