- Blackburn have slipped to 11 points off the play-off places
- QPR are in the relegation zone, three points from safety
- Recommended bet: Blackburn to win

Two teams having league seasons largely to forget meet on Saturday when Blackburn host QPR in the Championship.

Rovers are down in a disappointing 18th place in the table, while Rangers are in the relegation zone, eight points and four positions worse off.

The hosts go into the clash on the back of progressing nicely into the fifth round of the FA Cup thanks to a 4-1 win over Wrexham at Ewood Park on Monday and should be confident of making it back-to-back home victories.

Team news

Kyle McFadzdean could make his Blackburn debut after the defender joined on a free transfer from Coventry, but Harry Pickering, Hayden Carter and Ryan Hedges are all still absent for the hosts with hamstring injuries.

QPR forward Charlie Kelman is no longer part of the squad after he joined Wigan on loan for the rest of the season, while the Hoops have no fresh reported injury problems ahead of their trip to Ewood Park.

Midfielder Rayan Kolli, however, remains sidelined with a leg injury for Marti Cifuentes' side.

The stats

QPR have won just one of their last nine Championship matches.

Rovers star Sammie Szmodics is the leading goalscorer in the division, with 16 goals from 26 games.

Blackburn won the reverse fixture at Loftus Road 4-0 in October and have won the last four meetings between the sides by an aggregate score of 9-1.

QPR look set to be involved in the relegation scrap in the second tier over the remaining months of the season, having won just six of their 29 Championship games so far.

Cifuentes' side ended a run of seven league games without a win by beating Millwall 2-0 at home last month and were then held to a 1-1 draw at Loftus Road by Huddersfield last time out.

However, their recent away form overall has been pretty dreadful, with just one win in their last 10 on the road and they may end up being edged out by Rovers, who impressed when beating Wrexham on Monday.

Jon Dahl Tomasson's men have drawn their last two at Ewood Park in the league, alongside also beating Cambridge United earlier in the FA Cup at home since the turn of the year.

They seem to be the more likely winners in what could well be a tight affair.
