Manchester City are determined to keep hold of Bernardo Silva despite Barcelona's efforts to force a move.

Reports in Spain suggested the Citizens would accept a bid of around £68million if Barca can come up with the cash.

But the Mirror claim Etihad chiefs will snub any offers for the Portuguese playmaker, 27, as Pep Guardiola looks to win a fifth Premier League title in six years.

Silva has 57 goal contributions in 166 top-flight games for the Citizens and has helped them finish top of the pile four times.

Despite being in a perilous financial situation, Barca have been splashing the cash this summer with Robert Lewandowski close to joining former Leeds star Raphinha at the Camp Nou.

They are not done yet and could raise more funds if Manchester United complete a deal for Frenkie de Jong.

But despite bringing in Erling Haaland and Kalvin Phillips for a combined £100m, City are under no pressure to sell as they recouped plenty from flogging Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling.

Oleksandr Zinchenko could also be on the move with the Guardian reporting that the Ukrainian and Arsenal are in talks over personal terms after a £30m deal was agreed between the clubs.
