Transfer Talk: Barca to challenge Man Utd for Bardghji
LaLiga champions Barcelona are the latest European powerhouse to join the hunt for FC Copenhagen star Roony Bardghji.
Manchester United remain one of the frontrunners to sign the Swedish prospect but are not alone with Juventus, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid all taking an interest in the 18-year-old.
Mundo Deportivo say Barca are keen to add up-and-coming talent from abroad to their pool of players developed in La Masia but it will not be an easy deal for the Catalan giants to strike.
Xavi and Co have already missed out on one rising star in recent months after Lucas Bergvall chose Tottenham instead of the Camp Nou — and they face much more competition for Bardghji.
He will enter the final 18 months of his contract in the summer and FC Copenhagen could be forced to sell their prized possession or risk losing him for free in December 2025.
The talented forward has reportedly already told the Danish club that he wishes to leave and has previously rejected any new contract offers.
In 2023-24, Bardghji has scored 11 times in all competitions, including the winner against United in the Champions League in November.
He is regarded as one of Europe's top talents and will command a hefty fee even as his contract winds down — such is the demand for his signature.
