Amad Diallo reflected on a "dream come true" after he scored a dramatic late winner as Manchester United beat Liverpool 4-3.

Substitute Diallo, 21, won the FA Cup classic in the dying seconds of extra-time at Old Trafford to book United a trip to Wembley, where they will face Coventry.

After struggling for minutes this term, the substitute was thrilled with the goal he described as the best of his career.

He told ITV: "What a game! Today we deserved this win, we played very good, it was one of the best games of the season.

"It's the best goal of my life. It's a really important moment.

"You need to believe in every single moment, this is football.

"It is a dream come true.

"When [Alejandro] Garnacho gave me the ball I wanted to give it him back but it was a good moment to shoot."

Diallo was shown a second yellow card after the goal as he removed his shirt during the celebrations.

He added: "I am disappointed to be sent off but what is important is to win.

"To beat Liverpool is a big, big moment for me."

United made a fast start to the game, going 1-0 up before allowing their visitors back in.

And while delighted with the win as a whole, manager Erik ten Hag claimed the opening period was as well as they have performed all term.

He said: "The first 30 minutes was the best of our whole season, we were acting as a team but then we got gaps between the lines and you can't allow this against one of the best teams in Europe.

"They outplayed us. Then we made changes, we took risks and the players were wonderful.

"The attitude was great, we had a strong belief to win this game."
