The Champions League action returns this week with all four quarter-final first-leg ties taking place, with the quartet of games split evenly across Tuesday and Wednesday.

Arsenal vs Real Madrid (Tuesday, 8pm)

With their Premier League title bid falling away over recent weeks, all of Arsenal's eggs look to be in the Champions League basket and they face a difficult first leg at home to Real Madrid.

The Gunners were recently rocked by the news that centre-back Gabriel has been ruled out for the rest of the season and his absence, when coming up against a Los Blancos outfit boasting the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham, could not have come at a worse time.

Madrid have not been solid at the back and they will likely have to deal with Bukayo Saka, who recently returned from injury for Arsenal, but the Spanish giants always seem to find a way of getting the job done when it comes to Europe.

Score prediction: Arsenal 1-3 Real Madrid

Bayern Munich vs Inter Milan (Tuesday, 8pm)

Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich host Serie A table-toppers Inter Milan and this should be a fierce battle between two in-form sides, with the Bavarians suffering just one defeat from their last 15 fixtures and the Nerazzurri unbeaten in their last 10 assignments.

The German giants are a tough nut to crack at the Allianz Arena, a stadium they are unbeaten at in their last 22 Champions League games, so they may just have the edge in this first leg.

Score prediction: Bayern Munich 2-1 Inter Milan

Barcelona vs Borussia Dortmund (Wednesday, 8pm)

LaLiga leaders Barcelona are on a 22-game unbeaten run in all competitions, last tasting defeat before Christmas last year and they will fancy their chances of getting the better of Borussia Dortmund.

The Catalans have scored 69 times during this purple patch of form, averaging just over three strikes per match and that attacking prowess can help them defeat a Dortmund outfit without a clean sheet in their last six outings.

Score prediction: Barcelona 3-1 Borussia Dortmund

Paris Saint-Germain vs Aston Villa (Wednesday, 8pm)

Paris Saint-Germain have already wrapped up the Ligue 1 title and they can take a step towards the Champions League semi-finals with an entertaining home win over Aston Villa, who are on a six-game winning run (one of them on penalties).

The Villans have won their last four away matches in a row, scoring three times in three of those contests and they will feel confident of finding the back of the net at the Parc des Princes.

However, PSG are riding high and, after knocking Liverpool out at the last-16 stage, they can account for another Premier League outfit by gaining a first-leg advantage ahead of the reverse fixture in the West Midlands.

Score prediction: Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 Aston Villa
