Under 2.5 goals

Rangers will be looking to stay within touching distance of Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic when Kilmarnock visit Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.

The Gers have lost the initiative in the title race in recent weeks, having won just one of their last four league fixtures, and anything less than a victory on home soil would drastically hurt their chances of catching the Hoops.

Visitors Kilmarnock will be no easy pushovers, though, as they arrive on a five-game unbeaten streak and will be hopeful of coming away from Ibrox with a positive result.

Team news

Rangers defender Connor Goldson has been ruled out for the rest of the season after picking up a knee injury, while Abdallah Sima, Ridvan Yilmaz and Ryan Jack are all sidelined.

Kilmarnock remain without the services of Kyle Magennis, who has not played for the club since December because of a hamstring problem.

The stats

Rangers have recorded just one win from their last four league assignments, with two draws and a defeat the other results during this period.

The Gers have collected 40 points from 17 league games at Ibrox this season, scoring 42 goals and conceding 15 times.

Kilmarnock are on a six-match unbeaten run in the top flight, with their last defeat in the league a 2-1 loss to Rangers in February.

Killie have lost just one of their last 10 away fixtures in the league, drawing six and winning the other three.

Prediction

While Rangers are still in the title race, their recent stumbles suggests the pressure has got to Philippe Clement's side and they may find it hard to chase down defending champions Celtic.

There is, of course, the smaller matter of the Old Firm fixture to come next weekend and the Gers will want to be in touching distance of the Hoops heading into it.

Firstly, though, Clement's troops have to negotiate this tricky visit of Kilmarnock, who are enjoying a superb end to the campaign and have kept clean sheets in their last three matches.

Killie have been hard to break down, especially on the road, with nine of their last 11 away games in the league producing under 2.5 goals.

Expect Derek McInnes's side to make life difficult for Rangers, who may end up having enough to get over the line, but a low-scoring encounter is anticipated in Glasgow.
