Paris Saint-Germain need to respond to their 2-0 defeat at Arsenal when they host PSV Eindhoven on matchday three in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The French giants have three points from their first two games courtesy of a 1-0 home success over Girona in their opener, while PSV are still looking for their first victory in the competition after losing at Juventus before picking up a point in a home draw with Sporting Lisbon last time out.

Team news

PSG are still without the injured Randal Kolo Muani (ankle), Goncalo Ramos (ankle) and Presnel Kimpembe (muscle strain), while Lucas Hernandez remains absent with an ACL injury.

Ousmane Dembele was an unused substitute in the weekend win over Strasbourg so he may start.

PSV are likely to be missing Joey Veerman due to a groin injury, while Hirving Lozano (muscle strain) and Sergino Dest (knee) are also set to be ruled out of the the trip to Paris.

The stats

Both sides are top of their domestic leagues, PSG have secured six wins and two draws from their first eight Ligue 1 games, while PSV have won their first nine in the Eredivisie.

PSV have failed to win any of their last five in the Champions League, though, losing twice and drawing three times.

PSG have won just two of their last five in the Champions League, losing the other three.

The two teams have never met before in European competition.

PSG have often been stronger in the second half of matches this season, with 17 of their 25 Ligue 1 goals coming in the second half of games, while their only goal in the Champions League also came after the break.

Prediction

PSG were fortunate to win their first Champions League game in the revamped League phase when a late own goal from goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga gifted them victory over debutants Girona at the Parc des Princes.

However, they then fell to defeat against Arsenal on matchday two when they struggled against the Premier League team and this will be another test against Dutch outfit PSV, who have won all of their Eredivisie games this season to already sit clear at the top.

PSV have found it much tougher in Europe, losing to Juventus 3-1 before being held at home by Sporting and, while they can give a good account of themselves in Paris, they could be on the end of another disappointing result.

PSG were comfortable 4-2 winners over Strasbourg on Saturday, when three of the goals came after the break and they may need another strong second-half display to secure the three points in Europe.
