Millwall can move level on points with Derby in the Championship standings if they claim all three points when the two sides meet at The Den on Saturday.

The Lions have made an underwhelming start to the season, collecting nine points from as many matches, but six of those have come on home soil.

All of Derby's 12 points have been accumulated on their own patch, with the Rams having lost all four of their away fixtures since returning to the second tier.

Team news

Millwall remain without the services of Aidomo Emakhu, who serves the final match of his three-game ban following his sending off against Preston, while fellow forwards Josh Coburn (leg) and Tom Bradshaw (muscle), as well as midfielder Billy Mitchell (hip), are expected to remain sidelined through injury.

Derby remain without injured quartet David Ozoh (hamstring), Tom Barkhuizen (calf), Liam Thompson (muscle) and Jake Rooney (knee), but Callum Elder is in contention to return from a recent muscle problem.

The stats

Millwall are unbeaten in their last three meetings with Derby (W2, D1), but they have only taken one point from their three most recent clashes with the Rams on home soil.

The Lions have only won one of their last five games, but that was a 3-1 success over Preston in their most recent home fixture.

Derby are the only side yet to pick up an away point in the Championship this season, losing all four of their fixtures on the road, while they were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup at League Two Barrow on penalties.

Paul Warne's side have also failed to score in each of their last three away games.

Prediction

The Den is a traditionally hard place for visiting teams to go and after winning two of their last three games at the venue, scoring three times in both of those successes against Preston and Sheffield Wednesday, Milwall will expect to add another three points when facing poor travellers Derby.

Derby are four wins from five on home soil since returning to the Championship but they have lost all their away fixtures, conceding the first goal in three of those games and trailing at the break in two.

The Rams also won just one of their final four away matches in League One last season and it would appear Warne is yet to find a formula to deliver results on the road at Championship level.

With plenty of know-how, Millwall could easily take this game away from Derby early, so do not be surprised if Neil Harris' side are leading this one both at the break and when the referee blows his final whistle.
