Oslo will make his first outing under Fergal O'Brien

There are three jumps meeting across the UK and Ireland on Thursday as the National Hunt season starts to fully take off.

Wincanton is one of those meetings, with a six-race card on the menu.

The racing at the Somerset venue gets underway at 1.15pm and runs through to 4.05pm — and we have picked five horses for you to follow.

1.15pm - MansionBet Proud To Support British Racing Maiden Hurdle (1m7f)

OSLO was quite useful on the Flat as he was once rated as high as 88.

The son of Gleneagles prevailed twice on the AW and is now set for his National Hunt debut.

The four-year-old, who is having his first start for Fergal O'Brien, has been handed an opener that does not look very strong.

As long as O'Brien's gelding handles the hurdles, he can make a winning start to his jumps career.

LiveScore selection: Oslo

1.45pm - MansionBet Bet £10 Get £20 Novices' Hurdle (2m4f)

It took ISLAND NATION just two races to get off the mark over hurdles.

He is a little unlucky not to have added another success to his record since then as he has gone close on three occasions, including when he was second of six runners at Huntingdon (2m) earlier this month.

Olly Murphy's gelding remains open to improvement. Off the same mark as his recent runner-up finish, he is in with a big chance of going one place better this time.

LiveScore selection: Island Nation

2.20pm - MansionBet Faller Insurance Handicap Hurdle (1m7f)

SEA THE SEE was in a different league to his opponents last time out at Ludlow (2m).

He hit the front very early into that contest and he dominated it from there, scoring by 16 lengths at the finish.

The handicapper has put this horse up 9lb in the ratings, which is a fair rise given how his last appearance went.

Amateur rider Peter Kavanagh takes off 10lb off his back again so there is a good chance he will follow up, though it might not be quite as easy on this occasion.

LiveScore selection: See The Sea

2.55pm - MansionBet Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap Chase (3m1f)

Young Wolf is more than capable of picking up a win
Young Wolf is more than capable of picking up a win

Jonjo O'Neill's runner YOUNG WOLF has fallen down the ratings over the last couple of seasons and is now 13lb lower than his last success over fences.

In his latest run at Uttoxeter (3m2f), he produced his best effort for a while when he was third of six runners, beaten by just over three lengths.

This horse is very capable of winning a class three contest.

If he steps up again on his most recent outing, it should be enough to win this handicap chase.

LiveScore selection: Young Wolf

3.30pm - MansionBet Watch And Bet Handicap Hurdle (2m5½f)

A first hurdles victory for STRIKE THE FLINT came at Plumpton (2m4½f) last month.

Suzy Smith's runner made all in a smart performance, scoring by five lengths.

It is difficult to imagine that there will not be more to come from this horse. An extra furlong in this race should not be a problem, while he looks capable of defying his 7lb rise in the weights.

LiveScore selection: Strike The Flint
