LiveScore Racing Preview: Ayr, July 19, 2021

Ayr are set to welcome back racegoers for their Monday afternoon card in what should be a fantastic occasion at the South Ayrshire course. 

Here are five horses to follow across the meeting, which begins at 1pm. 

1pm - Longines Irish Champions Weekend EBF Restricted Maiden Fillies' Stakes (7f)

There's only a small field for the opening race on the card at Ayr, but it's a fascinating contest to begin with as Chelsea Annie, Turn Back Time and FILLE DE LA LUNE have all shown promise in their previous starts on the track. 

The latter has the best chance of breaking her maiden in this race. 

Karl Burke's filly found just one rival better than her on her debut at Musselburgh over this distance last month. 

She was slowly out of the stalls and was detached from the field early on and with a better start likely this time, expect to see her go one place better.

1.35pm - Ayr Gold Cup Sponsor Revealed Today Handicap (6f)

It has been an excellent season for GLOBAL HUMOR and he may not be done just yet. 

The experienced gelding has been successful twice in 2021 and has finished a close second on three other occasions.

This horse knows this course very well and was denied by just a neck here over 6f on his last outing. 

The versatile runner from Jim Goldie's yard is stepping down to this sprint trip now, a distance he is very capable at and can score off this mark of 68.

2.10pm - Book Direct At Western Hotel Handicap (7f)

MI CAPRICHO has been successful on his last two starts, both of which have come at this course. 

He scored over this C&D two outings back, while he stepped up to 1m last month for his latest success. 

Fortunately for his connections, this horse has been fairly treated by the handicapper, going up just 3lb for his last win. 

The six-year-old tends to only do enough when he is victorious and he should have an excellent chance of recording a third straight win at Ayr.

3.20pm - Weddings At Western House Hotel Handicap (1m)

A drop down to the lowest mark of his career helped VINTAGER return to the winner's enclosure at Windsor over this 1m trip last time out. 

This horse is a two-time Group winner, with his biggest success coming over in Germany in a Group 2 contest at Baden-Baden. 

The six-year-old should not have any problems off of this latest mark of 100 if he shows the same enthusiasm as he did last time on his first win of the year.

3.55pm - Staycations At Western House Hotel Handicap (1m)

It has been an excellent run of form on the track for ARRANMORE as he has not been outside of the front two on his last four outings. 

Two of those starts have ended in victories, including over this distance at Ripon last time. 

This horse has been much better since moving to David O'Meara's yard back in May and he can continue to rise up the ratings with another big performance here to land his third win in four attempts.
