Quick Suzy set for Phoenix Stakes

Trainer Gavin Cromwell says Royal Ascot heroine Quick Suzy is likely to run in next week's Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.

The filly was an impressive performer in June's royal meeting, winning the Queen Mary Stakes for her US-based syndicate Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners.

The Group Two triumph was her second victory of the year, after winning a Maiden at the Curragh in May.

Another ride at the Irish track is now likely, according to connection Joseph Burke.

Originally, she was going to wait until the Cheveley Park at Newmarket at the end of next month, but now an opportunity has been sensed.

Burke said: "We added her at the second entry stage and I'd say it's 95 per cent she'll run. She just needs to do a bit of work in the week.

"I think she's a filly who loves her work and it would have been a long time to wait until the Cheveley Park."

Cesarewitch the plan for Withhold

Withhold is on course to repeat his 2017 Cesarewitch success following his fine performance at Glorious Goodwood.

The eight-year-old came second in a 20-strong handicap field at Goodwood, losing out to Calling The Wind by a length and three-quarters.

But his performance pleased trainer Roger Charlton and owner Tony Bloom with the duo feeling the gelding is close to peaking.

And the autumn race at Newmarket is now a likely target.

Charlton said: "He ran a super race, arguably one of his best ever giving 11lb to the horse that beat him.

"But he's pleased me the last three times he's raced. And even though we don't get much respite from the handicapper, we might as well aim him at it again."

Bin Suroor sees potential in Real World

Trainer Saeed bin Suroor believes Real World has the potential to reach the very top, but is not looking to rush his charge.

The four-year-old was an eye-catching winner at Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot in June and followed up that success with a L=listed race victory at Newbury, in what was a step up in distance and class.

Another step up to Group Three is now on the cards and Bin Suroor thinks the son of Dark Angel could feature in some big races in the future.

He said: "We'll look for a Group Three for him next - he's progressing.

"He was keen early on (over 10 furlongs at Newbury) but still finished well. He's doing well and came out of his last race well - I'm happy with him."

Migration to stick to 10 furlongs

Trainer David Menuisier claims he wants Migration to stick to 10 furlongs despite a published entry in a mile contest at York.

The five-year-old won the Chesterfield Cup at Goodwood last week and Menuisier says he emerged from the contest in brilliant condition.

He has been provisionally entered in the Clipper Logistics Handicap at York's Ebor meeting but the drop in distance is something the French trainer is not keen on.

He said: "I would prefer to keep him over one mile two - that's his favourite trip.

"I wouldn't necessarily drop him back to a mile. It was an early-closing race at York and I left him in because I wanted to see what happened at Goodwood and keep all the options open.

"But by choice I wouldn't really drop him back. I'm pretty sure there's a mile-two handicap at York but I can't remember the handicap bracket."
