Barcelona beat arch-rivals Real Madrid to the LaLiga crown as Xavi's men reaped the rewards of a dominant season.

There were plenty of individuals who stood out across the Spanish top flight with Robert Lewandowski picking up the Golden Boot and team-mate Marc-Andre ter Stegen claiming a remarkable 26 clean sheets.

As the sun sets on another season, we pick out five star performers from the 2022-23 campaign.

Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona)

Lewandowski has been at his clinical best since signing for Barca last summer and the Polish international is a worthy recipient of the Golden Boot.

The former Bayern Munich striker was involved in 30 of the 70 LaLiga goals scored by Xavi’s side, helping to add another trophy to his superb collection.

Poland's all-time top goalscorer is set to continue to lead the line at the Camp Nou next term as the Catalan giants look to compete for Europe's top honours once again.

Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)

Atletico Madrid had an average season overall, but Antoine Griezmann stood out once again and sits top of the division's assists chart.

The Frenchman enjoyed his best season when it comes to goal contributions, striking 15 times and adding 16 assists to secure a better return than any of his previous 13 years in LaLiga.

At 32, Griezmann is showing no signs of slowing down and remains one of the Spanish league's most influential attacking forces.

Mikel Merino (Real Sociedad)

Real Sociedad snapped up the final Champions League spot on offer by finishing fourth and their success was largely down to the form of midfielder Mikel Merino.

Only Griezmann recorded more than the Spaniard's nine assists and the 13-cap international lent a helping hand in victories over Villarreal, Sevilla and Barcelona.

Having missed out on the Spain squad for the World Cup in Qatar last year, Merino has deservedly been recalled to the national side for the upcoming Nations League finals.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen (Barcelona)

Barcelona stopper Marc-Andre ter Stegen was phenomenal this season, picking up the Golden Glove and keeping 26 clean sheets.

The German has now spent nine seasons at the Camp Nou but is still at the top of his game, collecting his fifth LaLiga title.

Ter Stegen was consistent throughout the 2022-23 campaign, making 84 saves and conceding only 18 goals in a side that boasted the best defensive record in the league.

Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid)

Madrid star Vinicius Junior is another player who has done his talking on the pitch this term and his 19 goal contributions have earned him the final spot as a star of the season.

Los Blancos' mesmeric attacker completed over 100 take-ons in 2022-23 and only five players hit the target more times than the 22-year-old.

Despite a number of instances of racist abuse, Vinicius still managed to perform at his peak and has now clocked over 120 goal contributions in 225 appearances for Madrid.
