- Bristol City have not conceded a goal in their last four games
- Huddersfield head south west on the back of a 4-1 drubbing at Preston
- Recommended bet: Bristol City to win

Bristol City’s season is over but they are free-wheeling to the finish in some style and that spells danger for Huddersfield.

It’s one win in eight for Huddersfield who are the division’s draw experts but need wins now if they are to survive and a trip to Ashton Gate looks a tough exercise.

Team news

Liam Manning must be tempted to name an unchanged City side after his team crushed Blackburn 5-0 on Wednesday. The short turnaround, however, could mean that Nahki Wells, who scored two off the bench, starts against his former club.

Haydon Roberts will continue in central defence with so many defenders absent.

Town boss Andre Breitenreiter seems certain to make changes after branding his side “terrible” in their 4-1 capitulation at Preston. The German will be desperate Jack Rudoni has recovered from a hamstring issue to return to the No.10 role.

The stats

Bristol City have taken ten points from their last four games and have kept five clean sheets in their last six.

They haven’t conceded more than one goal in a game at Ashton Gate since before Christmas.

Only West Brom (5) have conceded fewer first-half goals in home matches than City (8).

Huddersfield have drawn a joint-high 16 matches this season, 12 of them ending 1-1.

Their only away clean sheets this season came in 0-0 draws at two of the sides below them in the table, Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham.

Huddersfield boss Andre Breitenreiter labelled his side “terrible” last time out.

Prediction

Bristol City are showing promotion form at the moment, too late to make a run for the play-offs, but confirming they are still focused and ought to be too good for Huddersfield.

City, almost by accident given the injuries they have in defence, have become almost impossible to breach and they even added goals to their armory on Wednesday when they popped five past Blackburn.

Strong at Ashton Gate anyway - since the turn of the year they have beaten West Ham, Southampton and Leicester in front of their own fans - they should be too strong for a Town team who were slated by boss Breitenreiter following their second-half no-show at Preston on Tuesday in a 4-1 loss.

They have had the extra 24 hours to recover but are on the road again and they looked seriously jaded past the hour mark at Deepdale.

That should make City attractive at 10/13 to score the last goal though the 5/4 the hosts in 90-minute betting more than suffices.
