Carlos Corberan has guided West Brom to just one defeat in their last nine Championship games.

- Bristol City have lost four of their last five games
- Both sides have scored in West Brom's last four Championship matches
- Recommended bet: West Brom to win and both teams to score

Four defeats from their last five have all but put to bed any aspirations Bristol City may have had about finishing in the top six in the Championship, as they currently sit 11 points behind Norwich.

West Brom, on the other hand, are five points clear of the Canaries and will be looking to consolidate their play-off position with a win at The Hawthorns.

Team news

Conor Townsend is absent with a hamstring injury for West Brom, who are also without long-term absentees Josh Maja and Daryl Dike.

Fellow striker Brandon Thomas-Asante did return during last weekend’s win at Huddersfield however.

Matty James is a doubt for Bristol City, while Sam Bell is expected to be absent until after the international break.

The stats

West Brom have been in solid form recently, avoiding defeat in eight of their last nine Championship games.

The Baggies have also been rock-solid at home this term winning 12 of their 18 games at the Hawthorns and losing just three of those.

In contrast, City have lost eight of their 18 road trips and have only won three of their last 12 games in all competitions.

Prediction

West Brom are having a very solid Championship season, one that has arguably been unfairly underestimated due to the efforts of the runaway top four teams.

Carlos Corberan’s efforts despite the off-the-field turmoil deserve recognition and the Baggies look likely to secure a play-off spot.

The hosts cannot afford to take their foot off the pedal however in a congested Championship top half.

They should be able to get the better of a City team who have lost four of their last five games.

West Brom have also been impressive at home, recording 12 of their 18 league wins at The Hawthorns.

Only the top two have a better defensive record than Corberan’s men, but the value selection may be to side with both teams to score.

Both teams have found the net in the home team’s last four outings and the visitors may be on a high after beating Swansea 1-0 last weekend.

Side with West Brom’s quality to be too much, they can win a game in which both teams score.
