Transfer Talk: Palace consider deadline day Cornet scoop
Crystal Palace are looking into a late deal for West Ham winger Maxwel Cornet.
With just a few hours to go until the January transfer window slams shut, teams are surveying the market for any bargain buys and Cornet could make a switch across the River Thames.
According to The Telegraph, the Eagles are keen to bolster their ranks and increase the gap between themselves and the Premier League relegation zone.
Roy Hodgson's side currently have a six-point buffer to Everton in 18th and have been boosted by the return of both Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.
And having made only two top-flight appearances this term, Cornet would relish the chance to start over at a new club.
Since signing for £17.5million in August 2022, the Ivorian has not reached the heights that made him so popular at Burnley.
Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta are also set to return sooner rather than later, meaning his minutes will be limited further under David Moyes.
Cornet's best return in a Premier League season came in 2021-22, when he scored nine goals and grabbed one assist in a Clarets team that were relegated.
The 30-cap international's move may depend on other comings and goings at West Ham, with Said Benrahma linked with a move to Lyon and former Celtic winger Jota rumoured to be a potential arrival.
