Transfer Talk: Barca hoping for Silva lining after losing Dembele
Barcelona are set to turn their attention to Manchester City star Bernardo Silva once Ousmane Dembele has joined Paris Saint-Germain, according to Spanish sources.
Blaugrana boss Xavi is said to be a huge fan of the Treble winner and is hoping to use the funds raised by Dembele's sale to sanction a move for the 28-year-old.
Silva has hinted in recent weeks that he would like to try a new challenge away from England and is keen on joining the LaLiga champions.
Portugal's midfield maestro has made 200 Premier League appearances and tallied 66 goal contributions during his six-year stay at the Etihad.
But despite his wishes to depart, City chiefs may choose to keep the valued member of their squad until his contract expires in 2025.
Reports suggest that there is a gentleman's agreement between Citizens boss Pep Guardiola and Silva that would allow him to leave if the right offer came in but that would still require Barca to fork out over £70million.
And with Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez already exiting this summer, the Premier League champions will be hopeful that they can keep the Lisbon-born playmaker for another season.
