Saturday's Premier League Bet Builder tips: Magpies to bounce back
- There are five Premier League games on Saturday
- Tottenham have won six of their last eight games
- Only Sheffield United have conceded more goals than Bournemouth’s 27
Manchester City moved back to the head of the Premier League table after a dramatic weekend that saw Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool drop points.
Spurs will be looking to bounce back this Saturday against Wolves in the early kick–off while Newcastle visit Bournemouth as they aim to put the midweek defeat to Dortmund behind them at manager Eddie Howe's former stomping ground.
Wolves v Tottenham (Saturday, 12.30pm)
Bet 1: Tottenham to win
Tottenham suffered their first defeat of the season on Monday after losing a dramatic clash with Chelsea 4-1.
Ange Postecoglou’s men also picked up a number of injuries and suspensions in that match but should have enough depth in their squad to bounce back against Wolves.
The hosts were beaten 2-1 by strugglers Sheffield United last time out and even an under-strength Tottenham side should be too strong.
Bet 2: Both teams to score
Injury to Micky Van de Ven and a red cards to Destiny Udogie and Christian Romero means that Tottenham’s defence will have a decidedly makeshift feel in this matchup and both teams are fancied to get on the scoresheet as a result.
Bet 3: Brennan Johnson to score at any time
With injury to Richarlison, Brennan Johnson is likely to get plenty of game time for Tottenham and has been dangerous in recent appearances.
The youngster has netted 24 times over the last two seasons and could open his Premier League account for Spurs in this matchup.
Bournemouth vs Newcastle (Saturday, 5:30pm)
Bet 1: Newcastle to win
A substantial injury list was at least partly to blame for Newcastle’s defeat to Dortmund in midweek, which made the Magpies' task of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League a tough proposition.
However they had beaten Arsenal 1-0 in the Premier League before that and look too strong for this Bournemouth side, who have lost seven of their 11 matches.
Take Eddie Howe’s men to return to winning ways at his old haunt on the south coast.
Bet 2: Anthony Gordon to score anytime
Anthony Gordon featured from the bench against Dortmund but should return to the starting line-up against Bournemouth and could get on the scoresheet for the second week in a row.
The former Everton forward now has four goals in nine league starts and may add to that tally against a Cherries side that have conceded 27 times in 11 matches.
Bet 3: Milos Kerkez to be shown a card
Young full-back Milos Kerkez has been booked just once in the Premier League this season but has already racked up 14 fouls, the most of any Cherries player.
The 20-year-old has also been cautioned in two of his side’s EFL Cup games this term and is a tempting price to fall foul of the referee in this one.
