- Leicester are top of Championship on goal difference
- Plymouth are down in 20th place
- Recommended bet:
Leicester to win by one goal

Championship leaders Leicester can get their shock defeat at Millwall out of their system by beating relegation-threatened Plymouth on Friday.

The Foxes remain top of the second tier, ahead of Ipswich only on goal difference, despite going down 1-0 at The Den on Tuesday.

Enzo Maresca's men will have been relieved to see their title rivals also suffer disappointing results this week as both Ipswich and Leeds, who are a point behind in third, were held to goalless draws.

With the three-way title race intensifying, Leicester know they can ill-afford another stumble at Plymouth, who are in danger of being relegated as they sit just two places and two points clear of the bottom three going into the weekend's games.

Team news

Plymouth caretaker manager Ian Dewsnip retained the same side for the draw against QPR that had beaten Rotherham 1-0 last Friday, but he has admitted changes are likely for the visit of the Foxes.

Argyle have no fresh reported injuries but the several players, including Matthew Sorinola, Adam Forshaw and Mustapha Bundu, could all earn recalls to the starting XI.

Maresca is also expected to make some changes with this game coming just three days after the trip to Millwall. Jamie Vardy is set to drop down to the bench with either Kelechi Iheanacho or Patson Daka coming in.

Abdul Fatawu and Dennis Praet are among the others pushing for starts while Ben Nelson, Harry Souttar, Kasey McAteer and Tom Cannon are all set to miss out due to injury.

The stats

Leicester have only won two of their last five Championship matches.

Plymouth have only won two of their last 10 league games.

Of Leicester's 28 wins this season, 13 have been by a single-goal margin.

Argyle's last four defeats in the Championship have all been by just one goal.

Prediction

Leicester's inconsistent form over the past few months has allowed Ipswich and Leeds to catch them at the top of the Championship and a thrilling three-way tussle for the title looks set to play out over the final weeks of the campaign.

The Foxes, who have a game in hand over both their rivals, will want to stretch their lead at the top to three points before the Whites host Blackburn and the Tractor Boys entertain Middlesbrough on Saturday.

A victory at Home Park looks to be on the cards but Maresca's men may have to endure a nervy evening as the hosts are also in desperate need of the points as they try to move clear of the relegation zone.

Three of Leicester's last five wins in the league have been by a single-goal margin and it could be a similar story against Plymouth, who picked up a potentially vital point in their survival fight on Tuesday against QPR.
