- Norwich are on an eight-game unbeaten run at home
- Watford are without a win in their last six matches
- Recommended bet: Norwich to win

Norwich will be looking to boost their play-off hopes when they welcome out-of-form Watford to Carrow Road for Championship action on Tuesday evening.

The Canaries are sitting ninth in the table heading into this contest, two points adrift of sixth-placed Coventry, while the Hornets are two places and four points worse off than their hosts.

With the top four spots in the Championship unlikely to be breached by the chasing pack, there is a huge battle to clinch the final two play-off positions, with 10 teams realistically in the hunt.

Team news

Grant Hanley has been a welcome return for Norwich

Norwich are without Jonathan Rowe after he sustained a hamstring injury last time out and he will be sent for tests to determine the full extent of the problem.

Shane Duffy is getting closer to a return, but this contest comes too soon for him, while Grant Hanley played the full 90 minutes at the weekend and he could be rotated out having only recently returned.

Watford will welcome back Edo Kayembe to the matchday squad following his recovery from a calf injury and he is expected to take a spot on the bench.

It is not such good news on Vakoun Bayo, who lasted just four minutes last time out before coming off with a hamstring issue and he has been ruled out, while Jeremy Ngakia is progressing well from an ankle injury and could be back in contention next week.

The stats

Since being knocked out of the FA Cup in the fourth round by Liverpool, Norwich have beaten Coventry 2-1 and drawn 2-2 against QPR to keep themselves in the play-off hunt.

The Canaries are unbeaten in their last eight home fixtures and have collected 29 points at Carrow Road in the Championship, only six teams boast a better record.

Watford have lost three in a row in all competitions and are without a win in their last six.

The Hornets have just one victory from their last five away assignments and have slipped to 11th in the table, leaving them six points adrift of the play-offs.

Watford are in the midst of a poor run of form and more misery could be coming their way when they take on a Norwich side who have thrived at Carrow Road this season.

The Hornets' last victory came in mid-January and a big concern is the attacking deficiencies of the team, with just three goals scored during the club's current six-game winless run.

Norwich may not be rock-solid at the back, but they have looked impressive on home soil, with five victories and three draws recorded from their last eight matches in Norfolk.

Although losing Rowe to injury is a blow, the Canaries should have enough about them to pick up the win and edge closer to the play-off positions.
