Middlesbrough vs Leicester predictions: Foxes can bounce back at Boro
- Leicester have won 13 of their 15 Championship games
- Both teams have scored in five of Leicester’s last six away games
- Recommended bet: Leicester to win and both teams to score
League leaders Leicester will be looking to bounce back at Middlesbrough on Saturday after their nine-game winning run in the Championship came to an end at home to Leeds last time out.
The hosts have promotion aspirations of their own but were held to a 3-3 draw in a thriller at Plymouth in their last fixture and have just one point to show from their last two games, after seeing their own six-game wining streak ended.
The Teessiders sit in 12th spot in the standings, but they are only four points adrift of the play-offs.
Team news
Middlesbrough have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game against the pacesetters but boss Michael Carrick looks set to be without Darragh Lenihan, Lewis O'Brien, Riley McGree and Marcus Forss again.
All four have been absent in recent weeks and are set to miss out against Leicester but they are all progressing well and could be back in action after the international break.
Leicester will be without Wilfried Ndidi, Callum Doyle and Dennis Praet, while winger Yunus Akgun is rated as a doubt.
However, Foxes fans may get a first glimpse of summer signing Tom Cannon as he has recovered from a back injury and should be in the matchday squad for the first time since his £7.5million arrival from Everton.
The stats
Leicester have won 13 of their 15 Championship games.
The Foxes have a perfect away record with seven wins in as many trips in the league.
Leicester have conceded in five of their seven away league games.
Middlesbrough have suffered three defeats in seven games at home.
Boro have scored in 11 of their last 12 games across all competitions.
Prediction
Leicester’s seemingly unstoppable charge towards an immediate return to the Premier League was dealt a blow last weekend as they went down 1-0 at home to Leeds but they can get back on track at the Riverside Stadium.
Enzo Maresca’s side are still the Championship pacesetters and they hold a three-point lead over closest rivals Ipswich, while Leeds sit in third spot a further eight points back.
As such, that defeat does not look too damaging and they can respond quickly by winning at Middlesbrough.
Boro appear to be at the start of a rough patch after a defeat at home to Stoke and a point at promoted Plymouth, where they blew 1-0 and 3-2 leads to draw 3-3.
The Foxes have been perfect on their travels with seven wins from as many games in the Championship and they can make it eight in a row at a Middlesbrough side who have lost three times at home in seven games.
A straightforward Leicester win at 5/4 is one option, but for a bit more value backing an away win with both teams to score at 13/5 could be the way to go here.
Leicester have conceded in five of their seven Championship trips and Boro have scored in 11 of their last 12 games, so the Foxes can triumph in a game where both teams score.
