Over 2.5 Leicester goals

Leicester have already secured the Championship title, but they head into the final day a victory short of hitting 100 points, sohe Foxes are set to name a strong side, which is bad news for Blackburn.

Rovers are at risk of the drop, sitting just three points clear of the relegation zone. They need at least a point on the final day to avoid slipping into League One, but can they stop a Leicester side who are looking to sign off with a win?

Team news

Leicester have a fully-fit squad for their final game of the season and they’re expected to name a strong line-up as they chase 100 points.

Blackburn Rovers are without five players on the final day, with Scott Wharton, John Fleck, Harry Leonard Arnor Sigurdsson and Ryan Hedges ruled out.

The stats

Blackburn have conceded 74 goals this season, only the bottom two have conceded more.

Only Ipswich (90) have outscored Leicester (89) in the Championship this term and the Foxes have won three in a row, scoring 10 times.

Rovers have lost 3-1 to Sheffield Wednesday and 5-0 at Bristol City across their last four.

The Foxes have won 17 of their 22 home games this season and have scored 33 times across 13 meetings with the bottom seven.

Prediction

While Blackburn will be hoping to grind out a point on the final day and beat the drop, the visitors are going to find it tough to shut down this Leicester side.

Rovers head into the final weekend with one of the worst defensive records in the division, shipping 74 goals. Only Rotherham and Huddersfield – the bottom two in the table – have conceded more.

That poor defensive record meets a team that could end the campaign as the league’s top-scoring outfit.

Leicester have notched 89 goals across 45 matches, which puts them a goal behind Ipswich. Having racked up 33 goals against the bottom seven in the table, the Foxes should clear 90 goals in Saturday’s finale.

Blackburn have conceded three or more goals on eight occasions away from home this term, including in four of their six meetings with the top seven.

Less than a month ago this Blackburn side were thumped 5-0 at Bristol City, while they missed the chance to all but secure survival two games ago, in a 3-1 home defeat to 20th-placed Sheffield Wednesday.

Leicester look to be taking this final game seriously, while the Blackburn defence offers little resistance. Back the hosts to score at least three times for the 16th time this term.
