Ipswich vs Wolves predictions: Visitors to strike decisive blow in relegation scrap

&w=707&quality=100)
- Ipswich are yet to pick up a point on home soil this calendar year
- Wolves are seeking a third Premier League win on the bounce
- Recommended bet: Wolves to win
Ipswich know they realistically need to beat Wolves at Portman Road on Saturday to keep their hopes of avoiding relegation from the Premier League alive.
The Tractors Boys will head into the contest sitting 18th in the standings, but they are a full nine points adrift of Wolves, who currently sit just a place above the relegation zone.
Wednesday's much-needed 2-1 win at Bournemouth will have boosted Ipswich's spirits, but Wolves were also winners in midweek and have greater momentum behind them ahead of this tussle in Suffolk.
Team news
Ipswich were without Omari Hutchinson (thigh) and Leif Davis (leg) for the win at Bournemouth and that duo are expected to miss out again, as is goalkeeper Arijanet Muric, who is set to undergo shoulder surgery.
Wes Burns (knee), Chiedozie Ogbene (Achilles) and Sammie Szmodics (ankle) remain long-term absentees.
Wolves will once again be without talisman Matheus Cunha, who will serve the final match of his four-game ban for being sent off in last month's FA Cup exit at Bournemouth.
Serious knee injuries continue to sideline Enso Gonzalez, Yerson Mosquera, Leon Chiwone and Sasa Kalajdzic.

The stats
Ipswich claimed their first league victory of 2025 by beating Bournemouth last time out, ending a 10-game winless run in the competition.
Kieran McKenna's side have lost 10 of their 15 top-flight home matches this season, with their only win at Portman Road coming against Chelsea in December.
Since that 2-0 success, Ipswich have lost five home games on the bounce in the league, conceding 18 goals during that sequence.
Wolves have eased their relegation fears after picking up 10 points from their last five league games, a run that includes successive away wins against Bournemouth and Southampton.
Since taking charge in December, Vitor Pereira has collected 20 points from his 14 league games — Wolves only picked up nine in 16 matches before his arrival.
Ipswich did win the reverse meeting between the two sides in December, claiming a 2-1 success at Molineux in what proved to be Gary O'Neil's final match in the Wolves dugout.
Prediction
This feels very much like last chance saloon territory for Ipswich, who realistically need to win this match if they are to stand any chance of staging the great escape.
While Wednesday's shock win at Bournemouth was very welcome, it is difficult to see the Tractor Boys following up back at Portman Road where their record this season has left a lot to be desired.
Wolves will certainly fancy their chances of becoming the 11th top-flight team to win at Ipswich this term, with momentum firmly behind the visitors following three wins in their last five league games, two of which have come on the road.
Even in the continued enforced absence of leading scorer Cunha, Wolves have still been able to deliver, with Jorgen Strand Larsen stepping up to the plate with three goals in his last two games.
There is a gap between these two sides in terms of points and quality, with Wolves set to deliver what could be a fateful blow to Ipswich's survival prospects.
